The fascination for the elementary, purely functional character of industrial architecture is an important element of the work of Studio Mieke Meijer.
The blueprint for this installation was derived from the petrochemical industrial complex Chemelot. At night, complicated processes and advanced technology are literally placed in the spotlight to reveal the intricacy of constructions, volumes and a network of pipelines.
Their multi-layered composition was the starting point for an exploded view of frames and volumes in which reflection and absorption of light affect the experience of shape, colour and material.

Chemelot’s industrial site formed the blueprint for this exploded view, in which reflection and absorption of light influence the experience of shape, colour and material.
