Cristallerie royale de Saint Louis, based in the Lorraine region of France, is exclusively devoted to the production of crystal glass items that are sold throughout the world.  
For the festive season 2023, Saint Louis commissioned Studio Mieke Meijer to design a window display and alcove for the Saint Louis boutique in Paris.

Saint Louis is known for its outstanding mouth-blown and hand-cut crystal, crafted by master glass blowers and cutters considered to be among the very best in France.
One cut at a time, skilled craftsmen make mindblowing patterns, bringing crystal to life. The systematic, repetitive and precise character of the craft resonates with our design approach as a studio.

Where crystal patterns start from a 2D grid, the window display is based on a 3D grid from which geometric structures are drawn, holding crystal objects. It is reminiscent of a decorated Christmas tree without a tree, resulting in a light, fresh, sparkling window display.
