The material NewspaperWood was invented by Mieke Meijer in 2003. She reversed a traditional production process; not from wood to paper, but from (news)paper to wood.

Together with Roy Letterlé, Arjan van Raadshooven and Anieke Branderhorst she co-founded NewspaperWood BV in 2014. NewspaperWood BV is dedicated to the production and development of the NewspaperWood material in order to find new intermediate products and innovative applications.

After many years of intensive collaboration, Arjan and Anieke took over the company as from 2022.
