Frameworks is a system based on lattice constructions; extremely lightweight but stable structures which enable large spans with minimal use of materials. A lattice construction is a structure composed of several parts that will be assembled in triangular shapes in order to form an undeformable unity.

The system consists of thin oak slats connected by steel plates and rivets. The addition of glass shelves creates a storage function in which the transparent, light-weight nature of the design is reinforced.

Frameworks can be wall-mounted or free standing to partition parts of an open space. The more objects it holds, the better job it does of creating privacy barriers between one subsectioned room and another. The system allows customized solutions.

Frameworks was shown as part of the exhibition Conflict by collective Dutch Invertuals presented during Dutch Design Week 2012 and Transform during Salone del Mobile 2013. Both exhibitions included new works by various designers from various disciplines.

Assembly

Assembling a frameworks shelf is easy. Check the video for instructions.
